About University
Welcome to University of Bolton
The University of Bolton was established in 1824 as the Bolton Mechanics Institute, before through a series of changes before being granted taught degree awarding privileges in 1990 and the moniker University of Bolton in 2005. Even when all sources of financial aid are considered, Bolton University has some of the lowest fees in the country for students desiring to study there. Bolton recently launched a modest campus in the United Arab Emirates as part of its international expansion strategy. It has one of the most ethnically varied student populations in the UK, with roughly 25% coming from minority communities.
