Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was established in 1896 as the “Imperial Chinese Railway College.” It is one of China’s oldest institutes of higher engineering education. It has earned the moniker “China’s nursery of railway engineers.” SWJTU was established to educate China’s railway engineers. With the slogan “Diligence, Ambition, Tenacity, and Loyalty,” we have been fostering talents for the renewal of the Chinese country and persevering in self-improvement since our inception.
