About University
Welcome to Solent University
Solent University has been a university since 2005, and it was founded in 1856 as a private School of Art. It was incorporated as an independent higher education school in 1989. The foundations for what is now Solent University were set through mergers between Southampton College of Art, Southampton College of Technology, and the College of Nautical Studies in Warsash.
