Shanghai Institution of International Business and Economics, previously known as Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, is a Shanghai-based public university. SUIBE, which was founded in 1960 and was previously affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, is a higher education institution. It has been administered by the Shanghai Municipal Government since 1994. At the Shanghai Innovation Research Base for Social Sciences and the Studio of the Shanghai Research Institute for Development Strategies, SUIBE professors are recognised as chief experts.
