Beijing Institution of Chemical Technology (BUCT) is a mainland Chinese technology university. The University of Cape Town (BUCT) was established in 1958 and is linked with the Ministry of Education. As a Project 211 member university, BUCT has evolved from a scientific speciality institution to a more complete university with a liberal arts curriculum. It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Double First-Class Discipline University with a Double First-Class rank in several fields.
