Career opportunities

China’s economy has never been stronger, which means there are plenty of job prospects. Because the competition is severe, you need to figure out what would set you apart from the other candidates in your field. Many prominent multinational corporations, like HSBC, Microsoft, IBM, and Airbus, have offices in China and actively recruit individuals with international experience. Consumer goods, telecommunications, textiles, mining, pharmaceuticals, and transportation, to name a few, are all developing businesses in China. Engineers, doctors, informatics, environmental technology, production, and tourist personnel are in short supply in the country.

International students may find it difficult to work in China, as they are not permitted to work while studying. They can apply for a work visa (known as the Z visa) after graduation, which needs at least two years of work experience. However, there are outliers, such as in the field of education in China, where English teachers are recruited through 12 monthly programmes.
