The institution is China’s best mining university, with a global reputation for coal mining research and technology. China University of Mining and Technology is divided into two parts: the primary entity, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), is located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, while the second entity, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing, is located in Beijing (CUMTB). CUMT’s Graduate School was previously known as the latter. CUMT is a well-known multi-disciplinary polytechnic institution with a focus on mining.
