Since 1950, the institution has been authorised to admit international students on Chinese Government Scholarships as one of the first listing universities. Over 5,000 international students from more than 52 nations and regions have been trained at the university so far. Chinese language, MBBS (in English medium), Management, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Public Policy and Management, Economics and Finance, and Traditional Chinese Medicine are among the majors pursued by most international students.
